meme

i have seen a lot of blogs that have the 4 things about meme on them. I am such a rebel that I am going to do one thing about meme.

1 job:
Dairy Queen I am the most awesome Blizzard maker that ever was. I can still remember handing my first Blizzard out the to go window and my lovely trainer whipped my arm around and made me hand it to the lady upside down. Whacko.... Upside- I can still make a perfect "Q" on the top of my soft serve cones.

1 car:
A honda CVCC it was a funky piece of crap. It was an automatic that had a two speed shift with no clutch. 4 door goofy hand me down car.

1 Vacation:
Disney World- pure he**. Hot and packed. Fat people on larks running everyone over. You have to ride a boat to get to the stupid place. Sweat run downs your back and crack before you get to the Most Wonderful Place on Earth.

1 favorite food:
Cheese

1 tv show:
Forensic Files

1 movie:
Tommy Boy ( yep I love the deep thought kinda movies huh??)

1 place I have lived:
A hotel in New York for two weeks when I was a kid.

1 place I'd rather be right now:
On a hammock under the stars in the middle of my acreage.

1 person I tagged:
me me

cables

I finally knit some cables, and they are fun and easy. I made a super cute cable purse and will be making more. Pictures and links will be here another day.

Monster headache right now. Nothing is helping.

While shopping at Wal-mart the man walking opposite me had a very funny to me purchase. A case of Top Ramen, scrubbing bubbles and an air freshener. Just some simple nescesities I guess. Toilet is dirty, house stinks and needs some lunch.

Spinning like a crazy woman, still making fish, and slowly cutting the umbilical cord to my oldest daughter. It is so hard to let go.

I cant wait until the schedule comes out so I will know when my shows will be airing on TV. They will be on DIY Network so I think I will go search the web and see if I can find any information. fish and medicine

I must be nesting. I am cleaning out all cabinets drawers and every space that can hold my STUFF. Last night I cleaned out the medicine cabinet. I cant believe how old some of the medicine was. The oldest one was nasal saline spray, experation date of 1994. How scary is it that I have moved this bottle of nose spray 4 times. A few items that were out of date by just a bit I kept. Things that I wouldn't be afraid to use. A small list of things that I threw away because NO ONE should use these items past the date on the box.

1. vagisil - I want the pain to go away not get worse.
2. hemmoroid cream- once again I want a pain reliever not increaser!!
3. cough drops- crusty, sticky and old.
4. nail polish- when your nail polish seperates into 4 different colors it is time to pitch it.
5. Avon lotion- I sold avon back in 1995. It smelled horrible and the color was funky.

I am currently working on a tessellating knit fish afghan. It is a great stash buster pattern. The pattern is not available on the net anymore and am glad that I printed it off when I found it. I will have to make 80 fish to get the size blanket that I want so this will be an on going project.

I will have the girly scarf pattern written up soon and up on my website.

thoughts

If I put on this coat and hat can the world still see me?

I have not been stitching much but have been working on locker hooking. It is worked with a crochet hook and is fun and mindless. So far I have made a rug and hot pad. Pictures soon if I ever get my camera and desktop computer working again.

Stitch and chat is tomorrow night and I have never been. I am thinking of going if I can escape my family. I need to talk to others who craft. Need some inspiration. Maybe a journal of my finished items would help me stay motivated.

I have been looking at my hobbies a lot lately. Trying to understand them. Many times I wonder why I knit and crochet. I cant imagine making one more scarf, hat, shawl, etc. etc. I wonder how many I need and how many I can give as gifts. My yarn stash is out of control. I have way to much. I sometimes want to pitch it all and start over. Is this just the duldrums?? Am I just bored? I think I need a challenge. Sock knitting, cables, a sweater, something different.

My so called "career" in fiber arts has turned out way different than I thought it would be. I was on a personal high after filming the TV shows for DIY network. All plans for a future career were looking up. I started to sell my patterns to yarn stores. I had teaching opportunities. I had publishing opportunities. All things were saying "go for it, you can do this." But then all things changed. Illness plagued my family. Horrible illness. My career came to a screeching halt. All plans put on hold. All engagements were off. Keeping up with the day to day business was difficult. I am still trying to catch up.

New goals.

1. Organize

2. Prioritize

3. Be thankful for the little things.

4. When an opportunity comes along approach it reasonably.

5. Make ME happy with my craft.

6. Challenge myself.

7. Give away half of my yarn stash.
