perspective

The above picture is my new kitty Carmella guarding my wool for me and the other picture is some wool that I have spun on my new wheel. I love my wheel. It takes me to a different place and time.

Blogging is the last thing on my mind right now. Computers, crochet and knit communities, business, and all things creative are not important anymore. I won't be around much. I may pop in every once and a while and talk but dont expect it.

I have enjoyed the time that I have had with my "so called career" but am giving it up for my family. Epilepsy is a hard thing to deal with. It is all I think of now.

Do you live in South Africa? Is your child in the 10th grade? Then you just might see my plastic bag purse http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/Plastic%20Bag%20tote.html in their science book. A picture of the cover can be seen here http://www.shuter.co.za/view_product.php?product=796017328 Cool huh?

The crochet community is amazing and I have met so many wonderful people. But I have also seen a different side and I dont know if I want to be a part of it.

Until next time.........

pattern tester needed

I need a pattern tester for a new felted bag pattern that I have designed. I also need the pattern tester to be right handed. This is the first time that being left handed has thrown me for a loop in one of my designs. I think that I am overthinking this design but just want to make sure. You will need a K hook and about 8 ounces of worsted weight 100% wool. This bag also requires two plastic or wooden handles.

If you can work on the pattern immediately and have it done by next friday please let me know. Thanks a million!!!

illness

How do people who have a chronic illness deal with it every day? It has to be so depressing. I know that it is depressing. I was ill last year and have since found out what was wrong with me and feel 100 times better. My hubby on the other hand has been ill for a while now and the general answer after every test is "no problem found". Oh how I hate that answer. The number of tests that he has had is astounding. The last test he did was the Camera Pill http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2004/01/040107073734.htm . The pill is amazing. If only it can find the problems. If not it sure was an expensive test to have the doctor tell us the ususal "no problem found".

Unfortunately the illness is keeping me from teaching my class tomorrow at the Knit out and Crochet too event. What a bummer.

I think that this illness has a lot to do with my lack of sharing my craft adventures. I have so many to share but just dont feel like it. Hopefully soon.

A little tid bit of what I am working on is my new Ashford Traditional Spinning wheel. Yep I did it. I bought a wheel. I love it. I have spun for a week straight.

New Orleans

We went to New Orleans every time we visited my Grandparent when I was a child. My Grandparents lived in Franklinton, Louisiana. When we would drive in to the city we would go over Lake Ponchatrain. The bridge is really long and noisy, I can still remember the cla clunk, cla clunk, cla clunk, sound driving in my grandparent big old tan colored car. My grandmother would always remind us that if we had to go to the bathroom she had a blow up toilet in the trunk and my Grandpa would be happy to pull over if we had to pee. Thankfully my sister and I knew how to hold it for the ride.

Cafe Du Monde http://www.cafedumonde.com/ was the first place that we would go once we arrived. We would eat a huge plate of Beignets http://www.cafedumonde.com/beignet.html .

Later on we would go and watch the ships. That was Grandpa's favorite thing to do. Walking up and down Bourbon street was always entertaining. On one of our trips there was a man walking down the street in a diaper and blue clown wig. Weird... We always visted a shop that sold the best pecan pralines and then we went to the Italian Deli. We would always buy a big bowl of Giardiniera Mix. This is the best vegtable and olive mix in the world. We would eat so much that we would finish it before we got back to the car.

I love New Orleans, the people, the music, the entertainers on every street corner, the food and the memories. I am deeply saddened for the entire city. The pictures on the news are horrible. I cant believe what I am seeing, and I can't look away.

Please do what you can to help out, donate what you can and pray.

The lack of assistance to those who didn't evacuate is horrible. They want water and food. The local government let the citizens down. Harry Connick Jr. http://www.hconnickjr.com/ said that he could load up a truck with water and take it to the people at the convention center and be there in an hour. But the "officials" said it wasn't safe. Ridiculous. These people want to live, all they want is help. Food. Water. Kindness. Help. Relief. Life.

Congress should not have to come back early from their vacation to get these people the water that they need to survive.

until next time..............

Have you seen the little boy who has the Sponge Bob shirt on and is talking about his 76 year old diabetic grandma? He will be in politics when he grows up. I wanted to listen to every word he had to say. What an amazing little boy.
